Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to the Sous Chef, this role will
Lead daily kitchen operations and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented culture Prepare, cook, and present high-quality food with consistency and care Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP standards Train and guide kitchen staff; communicate progress and needs to management Support menu development and introduce fresh, trend-inspired ideas Maintain inventory, monitor product levels, and assist with ordering Oversee kitchen production in the absence of the Sous Chef
Requirements
Secondary school diploma plus 3–6 years of culinary/kitchen experience Culinary training or Red Seal/Chef’s papers (asset) Food Handler Certification, WHMIS, First Aid Expert knife handling and strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment Confident leadership and communication skills Ability to stay organized, multitask, and guide others in a fast-paced environment Creativity and a passion for modern food trends and menu development Basic/intermediate computer skills; hospitality/management skills are an asset
