About the Role
The Communications and Public Inquiries branch is seeking a skilled and motivated communications consultant for a full-time, one-year term role. The successful candidate will be a talented writer with experience developing strategic communications plans, news releases, speeches, media key messages and website content. You will demonstrate superior communication and writing skills, strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach.
The ability to collaborate effectively is essential. Working alongside branch and ministry officials, you will create, implement and evaluate communications strategies and tools for a diverse range of issues and events. You will provide communications advice to various ministry officials, and be comfortable, competent and consistent in addressing communications requirements in a timely manner.
This position also requires the ability to process and translate complex scientific and technical information into language that employees, stakeholders and the public can use and understand.
Typically, the knowledge for this position would be obtained through a degree or diploma in journalism, communications or a related area, or extensive relevant experience in public relations and communications.
