About the role

The Department of Political Science at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a sessional instructor to teach in theFall 2026 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

It has been timetabled forTuesdays and Thursdays at 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

POLS-2820-01 INTRODUCTION TO INTERNATIONAL POLITICS

This course examines the evolution and structure of the contemporary global system and considers the perennial questions of peace and stability in a world of independent polities. It treats the diverse capabilities, roles, and relationships of state and non-state actors, and considers major patterns of change in the post-war world.

**Lecture:**Three hours a week.

**Dates:**2026-09-08 - 2026-12-04

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have at a minimum a Master’s Degree in Political Science or the equivalent in a cognate discipline such as Public Policy or Law. A PhD is preferred.

Members of the Department of Political Science’s Sessional Roster or those who have taught the course before will be given priority in consideration for this position.
