Our client is a specialist provider of asset services, custody, payments and treasury services. Our client has a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones employing a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of their global operations, improve service quality via their ‘centres of excellence’ and to implement/leverage standardised processes globally.
The Finance team at RBC Malaysia provides Finance and Accounting support to RBC Malaysia locally, in addition to all of RBC’s businesses in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. The Finance operations in Malaysia is the Center of Expertise for APAC Finance, providing Accounts Payable, Financial Control, Product Control and Performance Management services. The objectives for Malaysia Finance is to provide First Class accounting services to our stakeholders in Asia Pacific, and to enable onshore Finance teams to fulfil their roles as valued Finance business partners.
What will you do?
- Perform the Profit and Loss Reporting for Capital Market in the APAC region.
- Complete designated Finance and Head Office reporting in a timely manner.
- Deliver Financial Reporting requirements in line with SLAs.
- Provide a first class service evidenced through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Contribute to the strategic planning of Malaysia Finance team.
- Complete designated reporting on a daily, monthly, quarterly or annual basis as required. This includes the production of materials for the Australian and Asia Risk Committee, DFR/KRI statistics, Asia Consolidated P&L, Weekly Commentary, and financial reporting for Management Committees and Boards.
- Participate in the automation, process improvement, and standardization of product control processes, while fostering synergies within the function. This includes involvement in local and global projects and contributing to continuous process improvements, such as report standardization and centralization of processes.
- Assist with the Transfer Pricing booking and reporting, including reconciliation and ageing for various APAC businesses.
- Conduct robust reviews of business and function costs, recommend and support cost saving initiatives.
- Maintain standard, centralized processes where applicable to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of management reporting.
- Ensure documentation such as procedure notes are current, and maintained in line with best practices.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- A accounting and finance discipline, preferably with knowledge on financial instruments and P&L analytical skills
- Minimum 10 years of working experience
- Proficient understanding and application of accounting concepts within a financial institution. Advanced knowledge of Excel, along with a fair understanding of tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, and Tableau. Familiarity with coding in VBA and Python would be advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Attention to detail
