Qualifications

MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Masters degree in a related study area.

OR

  • Bachelors degree or completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with three years = directly-related experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in evidence synthesis methods (including contributing to searching, screening, data extraction, and quality or risk of bias assessment).
  • Experience in use of software for meta-analyses.
  • Experience of having been involved in the conduct of systematic reviews.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Good oral and written language skills in English is required.
  • Ability to conduct most stages of the systematic review process is required.
  • Collaborative skills and a track record of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams including academic, clinical and non-academic individuals is required.
  • Demonstrate the potential to work independently is required.
  • Some experience with drafting reports, academic publications, and presentations is required.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask is required.
  • Must be familiar with privacy, confidentiality and security issues related to research is required.
  • A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work under the direction and guidance of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Kunutsor. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the conduct of publishable evidence synthesis projects.
  • Assist with all stages of the systematic review process – registration, searches, screening, data extraction, and synthesis.
  • Assist with interpretation of results and preparing manuscripts for publication.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including statisticians, data scientists, and other researchers.
  • Prepare and publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals.
  • Assist with the development of grant proposals and funding applications.
  • Contribute to the design, development and implementation of research projects.
  • Participate in research team meetings and provide oral and written updates.
  • Must be willing to develop skills necessary to deliver the research projects.
  • May be required to perform related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities as required.
