JOB SUMMARY:
The Operations Manager – Rapid Response is responsible for managing security operations across multiple sites while maintaining the flexibility to respond to urgent coverage needs. This role combines traditional Operations Management with Rapid Response scheduling expectations, ensuring continuity during vacations, booked time off, and emergency staffing gaps.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day security operations at multiple client sites in Vancouver.
- Lead onboarding, training, and development of security personnel.
- Act as primary coverage for booked-off shifts, vacations, and planned absences.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and performance evaluations; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and service reviews.
- Respond to urgent coverage requests on short notice, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Support emergency response and incident management when required.
- Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement in safety and operational effectiveness.
Schedule Expectations
- Flexible availability for Rapid Response shifts and short-notice coverage.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of security operations management experience.
- Valid BC Security License, First Aid/CPR certification, and driver’s license.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with security technologies (CCTV, access control, incident management software).
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or Business Administration.
- Experience with rapid response or rapid deployment operations.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (including climbing stairs and walking on uneven terrain).

- Ability to conduct patrols on foot or in a vehicle in varying weather conditions.

- Manual dexterity for operating security equipment and technology.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergencies, which may involve running or restraining individuals.
- Regular talking and hearing.

- Strong decision-making skills under pressure.
- Capacity to handle stressful or emergency situations calmly and professionally.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting and client interaction.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Maintaining composure when dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and pressure.
- Ability to direct, motivate, train, coach, and discipline staff in a positive manner.
- Reading and analyzing reports and financial data, including related computer usage.
- Conducting oral presentations and group meetings.
Other Conditions:
- Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks and behavioral selection survey.
- May require regular use of a vehicle and frequent travel in the performance of duties.
- Responding on an on-call basis to emergencies and incidents at all hours.
- Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable licensing and certification requirements.
