Your Opportunity We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Client Intake Specialist to support the Advisory practice. This role centralizes client intake and oversees conflict-of-interest (COI) and independence checks, client and engagement acceptance (CEA) processes, and targeted background research. The successful candidate will ensure timely, high-quality onboarding of clients and engagements in compliance with Firm and professional standards. You will own the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit COI and independence checks for Advisory engagements, documenting results and escalating potential issues as required.
  • Manage end-to-end CEA submissions, ensuring accuracy, data integrity, and auditability.
  • Perform background and reputational research on clients, counterparties, and related entities, summarizing key findings and risk considerations.
  • Apply Firm risk and compliance policies while balancing quality and turnaround expectations.
  • Act as a primary contact for Partners and engagement teams on intake processes; educate stakeholders on CEA and risk procedures.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and the Client & Engagement Acceptance Centre of Excellence to address inquiries and escalations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by standardizing templates, tracking metrics, and identifying opportunities to streamline processes.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and research skills, including corporate background and open-source (OSINT) research.
  • Excellent written communication and ability to produce concise, professional risk summaries.
  • Proven attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Experience with CRM, client intake, or conflict-management systems an asset.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Consistently meets throughput targets (5–10 COI and 3–5 CEA cases daily, depending on complexity).
  • Maintains high data quality, documentation accuracy, and compliance with Firm policies.
  • Enhances partner experience and supports timely, compliant client onboarding.

Your Experience & Education

  • University degree; research/critical-thinking disciplines would be an asset (e.g., Psychology, Political Science, Public Policy, Criminology).
  • 0–2+ years in research, due diligence, compliance, intake, or professional services administration; technical accounting not required.
