About the role
Position Overview
Reporting to the Operations Manager the incumbent is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient clerical support to the Supply & Distribution Department as assigned.
Duties include, but are not limited to: typing a variety of correspondence; preparing documents and minutes; filing; formulating reports and records for interpretation and analysis; maintaining an inventory of supplies; preparing payroll and record keeping for all unionized staff.
Performs duties in accordance with established policies/procedures, departmental standards, timeframes, and quality improvement programs; provides relief for the Clerk 1 during periods of absence.
Experience
- Two years previous related secretarial experience required.
- Experience in payroll coding an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
- Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills
- Typing 50 wpm required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) required.
- Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written required.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and complete a variety of clerical and record keeping duties with accuracy and proficiency.
- Demonstrated time management skills, the ability to complete tasks and meet established deadlines required.
Physical Requirements
- Periodic heavy lifting and carting.
- Work environment consists of frequent interruptions and various noise levels.
- Must be able to accurately perform a variety of routine and repetitive tasks requiring physical exertion and dexterity (i.e. hand and wrist movements).
