About the role

An exciting internship opportunity to work as a sustainability professional contributing to and helping to maintain Canada’s most sustainable technology company (www.hp.ca/sustainableimpact) at the leading edge of business sustainability. Working in the fields of product sustainability, Circular Economy, Sustainable procurement, Sustainable Impact training and Sustainable Impact leadership to drive revenue.

The successful candidate will work closely with one of Canada’s top sustainability professionals and many other experts across HP. This role will provide a unique opportunity to bring innovation and impact to your learning experience and deepen your professional experience. You will collaborate with local and global virtual teams to deliver sustainable impact projects, organize volunteering events, regularly report on progress against goals and learn to position sustainability as a competitive differentiator.

Tasks

HP Canada Sustainable Impact Team & Your Role

  • Assist with sustainability claims: competitive analysis and documentation and leverage this information to assist in sales and develop sustainability resources for sales.
  • Learn how sustainability can be leveraged as a competitive differentiator and how to translate sustainability leadership into sales.
  • Work on sustainability Award applications.
  • Draft grant funding applications for nonprofit partners in line with the 40 Days of Doing Good program (April 1- May 10).
  • Support the Nonprofit Partner Business Managers in their role as liaison with various nonprofit partners through event management, volunteer recruitment, donation drives, and contract negotiations and renewals.
  • Update website and internal Canadian data points and stories.
  • Hold in-person and virtual volunteering events that engage as many HP Canada teams as possible. HP Inc. gives each employee 4 hours of paid volunteer time per month which help drive the company’s sustainable impact and digital equity goals.
  • Ensure tracking of volunteer hours with a focus on skills-based volunteering.
  • Participate in sustainable impact meetings with internal and external stakeholders to learn about and promote corporate volunteering and sustainable procurement best practices.
  • Organize and co-lead HP Sustainable Impact training for new and current HP Employees and Partners.

Compensation The typical base pay range for this role is $48,000 to $50,000 per year. Pay within this range will be based on the review of experience, skills, and internal equity.You will not be eligible to participate in HP’s group benefit programs, including health, dental, or other extended benefits. During your employment term, you will receive vacation pay in accordance with employment standards legislation and will be covered under applicable provincial workplace safety insurance programs.
