Job Title: GCP Data Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON Work Arrangement: Onsite (hybrid) Employment Type: Contract Duration: 12 Months Domain: BFSI Pay Rate: CAD 65-70/hour Incorporated Application Deadline: July 17th, 2026
SKILLS REQUIRED
Mandatory Skills: Strong experience in Data Engineering with expertise in building scalable batch and real-time data pipelines. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Cloud Functions, and Cloud Run. Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and PySpark for data processing and transformation. Experience developing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration frameworks, and data warehousing solutions. Strong understanding of BigQuery, dimensional data modeling, relational and NoSQL databases, and streaming data architectures. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform is a plus). Knowledge of Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native data engineering best practices. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with a focus on data quality, governance, security, and enterprise analytics.
