Project Manager - Azure Migrations (LATAM, remote)

Client: Azure-exclusive consultancy helping mature startups migrate to Azure and get enterprise-ready
Location: Remote within Latin America

Engagement: Full-time, long-term contract

Responsibilities

Act as the day-to-day delivery lead and primary client contact for small, fast-moving Azure migration and modernization engagements.

Run light-weight delivery: clarify scope, draft simple plans and timelines, track a short list of risks/issues, and keep everyone unblocked.

Facilitate client meetings, capture decisions and action items, and follow through to closure; publish concise weekly updates and next-step checklists.

Coordinate engineers, architects, and vendors during discovery, migration, and cutover; align on RTO/RPO, validation steps, and rollback options.

Maintain delivery boards (Azure DevOps Boards or Jira) at a pragmatic level: epics, a few swimlanes, and clear acceptance criteria.

Manage basic commercial hygiene with support from leadership: SOW deliverables, change requests, acceptance sign-off, and invoicing checkpoints.

Keep an eye on security/governance and cost: ensure tagging/budgets are applied, surface Defender for Cloud or policy gaps to technical leads.

Drive handover readiness: runbooks, "how to operate" notes, links to dashboards/alerts, and a short hypercare plan after go-live.

Mandatory Requirements

4+ years managing customer-facing software or cloud projects, ideally in a consultancy or small team setting.

Hands-on experience coordinating migrations or infrastructure work in Microsoft Azure (AWS/GCP background helpful).

Strong client communication: ability to set expectations, handle escalations calmly, and translate technical status into executive language.

Working knowledge of Agile delivery (Scrum or Kanban) and practical use of Azure DevOps Boards or Jira.

Familiarity with Azure fundamentals: environments, networking basics, identity (Entra), governance (policies/tags), and monitoring handoff.

Solid documentation discipline: brief status notes, RAID-lite tracking, decision logs, and clear acceptance criteria.

English proficiency (written and verbal) and reliable overlap with North American time zones.

Nice-to-Have

Certifications: PMP or PSM/CSM

Exposure to FinOps basics (budgets, tagging, right-sizing) and simple portfolio reporting.

Experience supporting Marketplace/co-sell readiness or light compliance checklists (SOC 2, ISO 27001).

Comfort assisting with release coordination alongside GitHub or Azure DevOps pipelines.
