By backing high-potential ventures, Cycle H2O Water Fund aims to address global water challenges through technology, infrastructure, and resource management. Team members contribute directly to advancing impact-driven investments that protect one of our most vital shared resources: water. Role Description The Associate / Principal at Cycle H2O Water Fund is a full-time, on-site position based in Montreal, QC. In this role, the team member will source and evaluate investment opportunities in the water sector, perform market and financial analysis, and conduct due diligence on prospective portfolio companies. The role includes preparing investment memos and presentations, supporting transaction structuring and negotiations, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders throughout the investment process. The Associate / Principal will also monitor portfolio performance, support value-creation initiatives with portfolio companies, and contribute to the fund’s strategy, research, and thought leadership in sustainable water-related investments. Qualifications Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including experience with valuation, investment research, and due diligence. Background in venture capital, private equity, project finance, or impact investing, ideally with exposure to infrastructure, cleantech, or water-related sectors. Knowledge of sustainability, environmental sciences, or resource management, with a demonstrated interest in water conservation and protection. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear investment memos, reports, and presentations. Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with founders, co-investors, and industry partners. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities, with attention to detail and sound judgment. Ability to work collaboratively in a small, dynamic team and to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, business, engineering, environmental studies, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an asset. Professional experience in Montreal, QC or willingness to relocate; proficiency in English is required, and French language skills are an advantage.
