The Opportunity
The City of St. John’s is presently accepting applications for the casual position of Rental Attendant to assist with the Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe Rental Program located at North Bank Lodge in Pippy Park. The position is from January until April 2026, pending snow conditions.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for inventory and records of all on-site equipment
- Accept and process payment according to cash handling procedures
- Provide basic instruction of care and handling of equipment to the customer
- Provide information to public about programs.
- Responsible for security of facilities and equipment
- Perform other duties as required.
The successful applicant will be required to participate in all training programs applicable to this position and other related work. Qualifications

High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Experience with cash handling

Experience in customer service role

Knowledge of Cross-Country Skiing/Snowshoeing would be considered an asset
Other Requirements
- Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Record Screening Certificate AND Vulnerable Sector Check – Dated not more than six months prior to hire
- Standard First Aid and Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR Level C)
Hours of Work
Daytime, evening, and weekend shifts are available. Flexible hours based on personal availability and hours of operation.
Period of Employment
January – April 2026 (Dependent on snow conditions)
