Position: Healthcare Security Guard - Full-Time - Trenton Memorial Hospital
Site: Trenton Memorial Hospital, 242 King St, Trenton
Hours: Continent Rotation (08:00-20:00 – 20:00-08:00)
Overtime Method: Ontario Averaging Agreement (AA) After 88 Hours
Pay Rate: $19.13/hourly
Posting: February 4, 2026
Internal Closing: February 11, 2026
External Closing Date: February 28, 2026
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional, visible, and alert security presence
- Greet, assist, and direct visitors courteously
- Ensure the safety and security of clients, staff, and property
- Conduct proactive and reactive patrols (interior/exterior)
- Respond to emergencies and provide assistance as needed
- Complete detailed reports and investigations of incidents
- Monitor patients and enforce hospital policies and by-laws
- Manage access control, keys, and perform safety inspections
- Collaborate effectively with team members and work independently
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Valid Security License for Ontario
- Valid G Class driver’s licence and reliable vehicle required
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Proof of (minimum) double COVID-19 vaccination
- A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
- How to get hired in healthcare
- Immunization-Record-Ontario-Paladin.pdf
- Minimum 6 months security experience
- Healthcare security experience an asset
- Must be able to commute to Kingston for pre-deployment training
- Must be able to site train at all four QHC facilities (Belleville, Trenton, Picton, Bancroft)
- Must be able to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)

- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
