Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.

The Manager of Data Analytics is currently seeking a Temporary Full-Time Business Intelligence Developer. The purpose of the position is to support Waypoint's data analytics and business intelligence program including responsibility for designing, modeling, developing, maintaining and enhancing Waypoint's data environments and tools/solutions. This role will also support reporting, analytics and business intelligence/decision support solutions to meet the information needs and strategic goals of the organization.

Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work with a minimum of 3 days in office per week. Office location is 500 Church St. in Penetanguishene, ON.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain an overall data architecture, design principles, quality control, and data standards for the organization that supports the information needs of the business in a secure environment following best practice guidelines.
  • Manage Enterprise data warehouse, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) ETL, SQL replication and data transformations as required to support requests in on premise and cloud based environments.
  • Conceptualize and guide data requirements including initiation, oversight and evaluation of projects, initiatives and operations.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, data maps and other artifacts including conceptual and physical models, as well as metadata repository.
  • Create business requirements including functional and technical specifications and access controls.
  • Maintain and document standard operating procedures related to Data & Analytics database environments
  • Maintain a solid working knowledge of business intelligence/decision support industry trends and best practices.
  • Support, follow and contribute to information governance and data standards established by the organization
  • Demonstrate the core values of the organization, Caring, Respect, Accountability and Innovation at all times
  • Performs all work at all times in compliance with all hospital policies and procedures and legislation (Occupational Health &Safety Act, Fire Code, WHMIS, etc.) relevant to health and safety, security (including relational/therapeutic security) and potential risk hazards, and in particular, “duties of the worker” as defined in Section 28 of the OH&S Act.
  • Managers have the right to assign additional duties and schedule alternate work locations based on operational requirements.
  • Performs all work at all times in compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, legislation (Occupational Health & Safety Act, Fire Code, WHMIS, etc) relevant to health and safety, security and potential risk hazards.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post Secondary Education in the field of computer science, information systems, software engineering or information technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Certifications in Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)/Solutions Developer (MCSD) or other relevant equivalent certifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years recent and related experience, including in relational database, data model development, data warehousing, data analytics and business intelligence, object programming
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
