Description Hitachi Rail (STS) is seeking an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Contact Line System Engineer to work on our RSSOM project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Toronto, Ontario, CA .

  • Accountabilities
  • 5 up to 10 years of Engineering and Commissioning expertise.
  • Knowledge of the Design and Development processes, related procedures and instructions, KPIs
  • Knowledge of the system, subsystems of a transportation system and related interactions, system architecture
  • Knowledge of commissioning rules and standards also with reference to the specific project and country in order to adhere to them and induct other people involved on tests activities properly
  • Knowledge of the railway environment and the related risks and rules and adhere to them in planning and executing commissioning activities.
  • Identification and resolution of the Contact line interfaces with the main subsystems (e.g. Signalling, CW, Trackworketc.).
  • Guarantee that the delivery of every system is achieved in compliance with engineering guidelines, quality standards, timing and cost constraints
  • Ensure the Verification activities on Contact line or third rail documents, according to the V&V Plan
  • Interface with the Commissioning Manager to plan test and coordinate of operational activities on site according to schedule
  • Perform the test and issue the test report, issue non compliances according to quality procedures and purpose remedy actions.
  • Support capitalization and sharing of knowledge related to the specific Contact line (e.g. best practice, lesson learned, ...)
  • Ensure the interface with the other relevant technologies
  • Ensure test planning and coordination of operational activities on site according to schedule
  • % completion of activity budget with respect to the planned one in the project
  • % reduction of design releases issued with respect to previous projects

Preferred profile is a candidate experienced in the field of Contact Line systems and as plus in the field of the traction power or electrical systems.

Education / Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology or Equivalent technical experience.

Ontario P.Eng highly desirable.
