About the role

ABOUT THE ROLE Paradigm Architecture + Design is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Technologist / Project Lead to join our Toronto studio.

This is a senior technical and project-delivery role for someone who can take ownership of architectural projects with a high degree of independence. After becoming familiar with our office standards, the successful candidate will lead the preparation and coordination of permit sets, construction documents, technical detailing, consultant coordination, and project delivery.

We are looking for someone with established technical capability and sound professional judgment, particularly in building-envelope design, building code compliance, Revit, permit submissions, construction documentation, and consultant coordination.

The right candidate will be comfortable managing complex drawing sets, identifying technical issues, coordinating with internal and external teams, and helping projects move forward efficiently and accurately.

WORK ARRANGEMENT This is a Toronto-based hybrid position.

Following the first three months of employment, eligible employees may work from home up to two days per week, subject to project and team needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the preparation of permit drawings, construction documents, and coordinated drawing packages.
  • Manage technical project delivery from design development through permit and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and other consultants.
  • Apply a strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and relevant municipal approval processes.
  • Develop and review technical details, assemblies, and building-envelope solutions.
  • Use Revit to produce, manage, and coordinate project documentation.
  • Identify coordination issues, technical risks, and documentation gaps before they cause project delays.
  • Support project schedules, deliverables, and internal coordination to help maintain deadlines and client-service standards.
  • Work directly with principals, project managers, consultants, and internal team members.
  • Provide senior-level guidance to intermediate and junior staff while maintaining ownership of your own project responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 or more years of architectural technology, project delivery, or related experience within an architectural practice.
  • Seven or more years of hands-on Revit experience, including experience producing and coordinating complete drawing sets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on permit sets, construction documents, and consultant coordination.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building envelopes, construction assemblies, detailing, and documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
  • Experience working on larger or more complex architectural projects with limited supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants and resolve technical issues clearly and efficiently.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance technical accuracy, project deadlines, and client-service expectations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a Senior Project Technologist, Project Lead, Job Captain, Technical Lead, or associate-level project-delivery role.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior and intermediate staff.
  • Experience with municipal permit submissions and construction-phase support.
  • Experience with residential, commercial, mixed-use, institutional, or hospitality projects.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for someone who can step into a true senior role and bring established technical and project-delivery experience. After learning our standards, you should be able to operate with confidence, accountability, and sound judgment.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical problem-solver who understands how to produce complete, coordinated, high-quality drawing packages and keep projects moving. You should be comfortable taking initiative, asking the right questions, coordinating with others, and providing senior-level technical leadership.

COMPENSATION The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience, technical strength, and level of project leadership.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program based on individual and firm performance.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Hybrid work flexibility after the first three months, with the option to work from home up to two days per week, subject to project and team needs.
  • Life insurance, long-term disability, and accidental death and dismemberment coverage, with premiums paid 100% by the employer.
  • Extended health and dental benefits, with premiums paid 80% by the employer.
  • Three weeks of vacation, plus three additional paid days between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
  • Annual performance and salary reviews.
  • Summer hours and flexible working hours where project schedules allow.
  • Meaningful project ownership, autonomy, and direct involvement in technical decision-making.
  • The opportunity to work closely with principals on active projects and have a visible impact on project delivery.
  • A collaborative studio environment where senior technical expertise is valued and relied upon.
  • Opportunities to mentor and support intermediate and junior team members.
  • A position suited to someone who wants to be trusted as a senior technical and project-delivery lead, rather than being limited to production support.

HOW TO APPLY Please submit your resume and portfolio or relevant work samples. We are particularly interested in seeing examples of permit sets, construction documentation, technical detailing, and projects where you played a senior role in coordination and delivery.
