About the role

Job Title: Programmer Analyst 12-month contract | 100% Remote (British Columbia Preferred) | Closing Date: July 3, 2026 | Rate Range: $90-100/hour | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa

Our client is seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst to support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise business applications. Reporting to a Technical Architect and working closely with business and technical teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing requirements, developing software solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting the ongoing evolution of critical business systems. This role requires a strong combination of software development expertise, systems analysis capabilities, and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on developer who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

Responsibilities: Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions, specifications, and application enhancements Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using modern Microsoft development technologies Develop software components, APIs, integrations, scripts, and automation solutions in accordance with established standards and best practices Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and integration issues in collaboration with technical and business teams Design and execute test plans, test cases, and quality assurance activities to ensure application reliability and performance Participate in application upgrades, enhancements, maintenance activities, and production support Collaborate with Business Analysts, Technical Architects, and stakeholders to define technical designs, project estimates, and implementation approaches Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, coding standards, and support materials Participate in software evaluations, technology assessments, and recommendations for future improvements Support source control, deployment processes, and change management activities Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on application performance, maintainability, security, and user experience

Qualifications: Required Qualifications Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field Minimum 5 years of software development and application support experience Strong development experience with C#, JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC, and ASP.NET Blazor Strong SQL skills and experience developing against Microsoft SQL Server environments Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation Experience working with .NET technologies, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and/or Power BI Strong understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, REST APIs, Web Services, token-based authentication, and multi-factor authentication Experience using Git for source control, preferably within Azure DevOps environments Experience gathering requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, or Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions Hands-on experience developing test plans, test cases, and supporting quality assurance activities Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with PHP development Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and modern development practices Familiarity with enterprise application architecture and integration patterns Experience supporting public sector, legal, financial, or highly regulated environments Experience working within Agile or hybrid project delivery environments
