About The Role Reports to: Manager of Project Management Office or Drafting Lead
Exergy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Designer/Drafter to join our growing team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of mechanical drafting and a desire to build on that experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You’ll work primarily with Autodesk Inventor to produce high-quality 2D mechanical drawings and 3D models while also supporting the drafting department in various design and documentation tasks. This is a full-time employment opportunity, with the option for a contractor-based position if preferred.
Key Responsibilities At Exergy, our work is often challenging yet fulfilling. The Principal Process Engineer will directly converse with clients on their needs, guide and mentor other process engineers and EITs, as well as develop and review process engineering deliverables. This role requires a high level of accountability and includes the following key responsibilities:
- Create and revise 2D mechanical drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
- Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies in support of engineering and project needs.
- Assist in preparing drawings such as P&IDs, PFDs, general arrangements, and fabrication details.
- Support senior drafter and engineers with design updates, drawing packages, and documentation.
- Participate in model reviews using tools such as Navisworks and Bluebeam.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and alignment of designs with project requirements.
- Manage and maintain drawing files, revisions, and related documentation using internal/cloud base systems.
- Ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of design solutions, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of projects.
- Collaborate with the document control team to support client and vendor transmittals.
- Additional duties as required.

Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor with a strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
- Ability to produce and interpret 2D mechanical drawings with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to develop solid models of mechanical systems, including equipment skids, routed piping, and modular plant assemblies.
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
- Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in the design and drafting process.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Plant3D, Bluebeam, Navisworks, Vault, Fusion 360 or other Autodesk products.
- Exposure to P&IDs, PFDs, GA, Iso, Plot Plans or Fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical drawings, weld details, tolerance or GD&T considered and asset.
- Familiarity with mechanical fabrication projects.
- Hands-on or site experience considered and asset.
