About the role

Responsibilities

  • Division Learning & Development: This position is responsible for managing all Division core training programs, as well as nomination-based programs, including, but may not be limited to: Management Trainee Program, New Assistant Manager, New Store Manager, Intermediate Protective & Marine, Training Store Manager, Division Leadership Orientation and Development, Emerging Talent, and Emerging Leaders, by bringing together qualified field personnel, Division and District Staff to facilitate training. Training Programs are to be created, monitored and, when necessary, improved. The result is that all employees know how to execute the Division’s strategy and perform their assigned functions.
  • In close partnership with PSG Group L&OD and the other PSG Division DTM’s, ensure consistency and alignment of the employee learning experience across all PSG Divisions by establishing common and consistent programs, branding, training format, content, and delivery.
  • Recommend, develop, and partner with Group PSG L&OD and business leaders to implement core programming for the field sales team to address gaps & opportunities.
  • Oversee updates to existing learning programs and development systems, tools, and processes; evaluate external vendor solutions as needed.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to successfully design and implement large scale learning initiatives at the Division level and microlearning opportunities that benefit the Group.
  • Budget responsibility for Division training activities and vendor provided programs; manage and maintain vendor relationships and service agreements.
  • Manage and provide oversight to Division S.T.A.R.T. (HR Cloud) and OnSET certification.
  • Manage Training Store Manager approval and certification process.
  • Oversight of Division Summer Internship program
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence (TaCOE) – Early Talent team to execute 10-week internship program.
  • Communicate to stakeholders (Executives, Area HR Managers, District Leaders, Host Stores, Interns, etc..) about program dates, activities, and logistics.
  • Evaluate program on yearly basis to determine consistency with other PSG Divisions.
  • Create and set up resources/activities for Interns, Host Stores, and District Leaders to navigate 10-week program.
  • Facilitate and manage opening and closing session, in partnership with HR and TaCOe team.
  • Division-Level Organizational Development
  • Partner with the VPHR to lead the Annual Organizational & Talent Review Process, from guiding HRBPs through preparation, managing output and providing guidance for development planning.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the division in the area of Career Development (inclusive of maintaining Division IDP roadmap and IDP tracker).
  • In partnership with PSG Group L&OD, maintain updated list of talent pools on a regular basis to aid in succession planning and talent sharing across Divisions.
  • Support Division-Level Communications and Initiative Support
  • Communication and project management-related support as needed on the following initiatives:
  • Division Organizational Review Process

ii. New District Leader Orientation

iii. Training Store Managers & Store Support Managers

iv. Nomination Based Training Programs (Emerging Talent, Emerging Leaders)

  • Summer Internship Program

vi. Employee Engagement Survey

vii. POD/Zone activities, specifically as it relates to learning/training activities

  • Provide communication support to Division Townhall in the area of content, communication plan, TEAMS technology support
  • Provide National Sales Meeting support as needed, in the the areas of Learning & Development, Organizational Development or any other areas of identified responsibility.
  • Fostering a Culture of Inclusion & Belonging
  • Ensure all learning and talent-related programs and actions align with ID&E action plans and be an active advocate and supporter of all ID&E-related activities throughout the Division, PSG and the Company.
  • Lead development of Division ID&E Action Plan, in alignment with the Employee Engagement Survey Action Plan and in conjunction with PSG Group and other PSG Division plans.
  • Conduct regular (i.e. quarterly) Action Plan check-ins to ensure plans are being executed and progressing.
  • In close partnership with PSG Group Program Manager:
  • Provide effective support, guidance, and oversight to ERGs and their leadership teams, ensuring alignment and integration of ERG action plans, budgets and programming with business and ID&E goals.

ii. Support ERG operation including on-boarding, training, guidelines and templates; oversee strategy and work to ensure consistent execution.

iii. Provide content and other development support to the Employee Resource Groups as needed.

iv. Maintain updated list of Division ERG chapters, chairs, co-chairs, members and leadership champions/advocates.

  • Design and execute safety programs.
  • In close partnership with PSG and corporate safety teams develop safety training programs that meet the provincial needs.
  • Oversee the execution of mandatory safety trainings.

Qualifications

  • FORMAL EDUCATION
  • Required:

Bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, human resources or related field.

  • KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
  • Required:
  • Experience with designing learning or training content; experience facilitating training sessions.
  • Experience with and comfort level in facilitating large group presentations.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills, successfully executing large scale projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Organization, follow-up and superior attention to detail.
  • Preferred:
  • PSG Field level experience.
  • Experience in HR and/or Learning & Organizational Development.
  • Strong technical capability relative to learning and communication software.
  • Advanced design experience in SharePoint.
  • Experience managing a budget and /or vendors.
  • Knowledge of the Sherwin-Williams organization.
  • TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be knowledgeable in computer systems (MS Office Suite)
