1.0 FTE District Elementary Counsellor
Temporary: Immediately – March 13, 2026, or full return of the incumbent
NOTE: This assignment may end prior to the end date, or it may be extended.
Qualifications:
- BC Certification with Bachelor of Education Degree
- Master's Degree in Counselling
- Experience in Cognitive-Theory-Based Counselling with an understanding of Trauma Informed Practice
- Previous successful experience in Counselling required
- Must be familiar with Inter-ministerial social agency protocols
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be experienced at working in a collaborative team setting
- Training in Suicide Risk Assessment and care plans
- An understanding of counselling supports through a Response to Intervention lens
Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Maintain therapy caseloads
- Consult with school-based teams, parents, district staff, and community agencies
- Provide/facilitate professional development opportunities for School District No. 20 employees
- Active member of District Itinerant Team and District Counselling Team.
Salary and Benefits:
- The annual salary for this position ranges from $60,337 to $111,450, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
Note: The successful candidate will require a valid driver's license and vehicle.
