As the Lead Data Integration Specialist, you will lead various initiatives by engineering data solutions for analytics purposes while also supporting the team through coaching using insurance data and advanced programming tools. You will be responsible for providing business value through the creation; maintenance; implementation of back-end data solutions (ie. Source System Data Store & Business Data Store) through the full software development lifecycle and effectively communicate said value to a business audience.

How you will create impact:

  • Leading and guiding the technical aspects of multiple machine learning projects and data science teams.
  • Improving the pipeline with the AMTB team, integrating reconciliation across the various assets in this vertical.
  • Building physical data models and schemas from conceptual and business data models and requirements.
  • Leading the design of our analytic and machine learning solutions, working with architects and solution designers and taking responsibility for the work of junior resources.
  • Defining and promoting designs for analytic solutions, considering scalability, automation, security, long-term maintainability and performance.
  • Working with BI Architects on data projects involving complex problems or high-level business objectives and leading the design of data engineering solutions, ensuring the outcomes of the projects meet the business objectives.
  • Defining and promoting design principles based on the solution (ex: REST API) and best practice in terms of data handling (ex: security, governance), the SDLC (ex: unit testing), production code standards and meeting SLAs (ex: low latency responses).
  • Enabling and supporting ML Ops practices, standards and guidelines.

To join our team:

  • You have 10 years of experience in Data Engineering/Integration or other related field.

  • You have a post secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • You have experience leading others to solve complex problems using analytical thinking, tools and judgment to identify innovative solutions.

  • Having a strong understanding of the insurance industry and have experience working with Policy Center data would be considered an asset.

  • You have excellent knowledge and understanding of data analysis, programing, modeling and ML techniques, data warehouse and data management, research, architecture and design.

  • Experience with following technologies and environments is required: SQL, Python, Synapse, Databricks and Azure Data Factory.

  • Experience with following technology is an asset: MicroStrategy and Microsoft Fabric/Power BI.

  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
