We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II with strong electronics and test engineering expertise to support rapid new product introduction (NPI) and sustain high‑quality production of electronic and electromechanical products.

This role goes beyond traditional process engineering and includes electronics design collaboration, PCBA and product test development, test software, fixture design, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and close partnership with R&D throughout the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings a solid electronics foundation, strong hands‑on aptitude, and experience developing manufacturing and test solutions in regulated or quality‑driven environments.

Main responsibilities:

New Product Introduction & Lifecycle Ownership

  • Ensure manufacturing, test, and validation processes are fully developed, validated, and production ready for product launch.
  • Coordinate and execute trial production runs for all new products.
  • Validate work orders, BOMs, routings, and product structures for NPI products

Electronics, Test Engineering & Software Development

  • Develop test strategies, test requirements, and test coverage for PCBAs, sub‑assemblies, and final products.
  • Design, build, and debug electronic test fixtures, assembly fixtures, jigs, and error‑proofing solutions.
  • Write, maintain, and debug test software to support PCBA‑level and final product acceptance testing.
  • Develop and implement advanced test and inspection methodologies in collaboration with QA and R&D.
  • Support production and service teams with troubleshooting of complex electronic, test, or systemic issues.

Design Collaboration

  • Collaborate with design teams on electronics design, testability (DFT), and manufacturability (DFM/DFA).
  • Apply working knowledge of electronic circuits, components, and PCB assemblies, combined with practical mechanical aptitude to design and develop tools, fixtures, and jigs to aid assembly, testing, and quality assurance.

Validation, Quality & Compliance

  • Develop and execute validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) for manufacturing processes and test equipment.
  • Lead process pFMEA activities and support product design FMEA (dFMEA).
  • Drive root cause failure analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate testing, evaluation, and verification as required for supplier or CI driven changes.
  • Work with QA to create high‑level inspection and test procedures for critical or high‑risk components.

Manufacturing & Operational Support

  • Plan, direct, develop manufacturing and test processes.
  • Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and production layout for efficiency.
  • Provide production estimates, takt and cycle time analysis to support management decisions.
  • Develop, update, and maintain manufacturing and test documentation (MAPs, ITPs).
  • Train production staff on manufacturing, assembly, and test procedures.
  • Apply statistical methods (SPC, CPK, Gage R&R) to monitor and improve manufacturing performance as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Electronics Engineering, Test Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering within a production environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline; C.E.T. considered with relevant experience.
  • Electronics Design Engineering – schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium, KiCad, Eagle, Cadstar, or equivalent.
  • Software Engineering – proficient in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Python, LabVIEW, Java, C++, Embedded C or equivalent languages

  • Hands‑on experience debugging PCBAs at the component, schematic, or signal‑level.
  • Experience selecting test instrumentation (DMMs, power supplies, DAQs, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Practical hands‑on experience with electro‑mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction, production cell setup, and operator training.
  • Experience with validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) in regulated or quality‑driven environments.
  • Experience with PLM systems and MRP/ERP software.
  • Experience with SPC concepts including CPK and Gage R&R.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S/6S.
