What to Expect:
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Demand Planning to lead a team responsible for the development and alignment of the consensus demand plan across all categories at Nestlé Canada (NiM). This position will oversee and enhance demand planning strategies, serving as the primary liaison for One Operations and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure operations are efficient and accurately meet customer demand. The successful candidate will take ownership of the signed-off demand plan and cultivate a diverse talent pipeline to strengthen functional capabilities in demand planning.
A day in the life:
End-to-End Demand Planning Performance & Analytics
- Lead and manage a team of demand planners to ensure accurate demand forecasting and ownership of the signed-off demand plan for all market categories.
- Analyze monthly demand performance metrics and collaborate with stakeholders to implement improvement plans and develop demand scenarios.
- Drive category-specific demand planning strategies using digital tools and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for demand planning, ensuring continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and plan quality.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales, to incorporate promotions and new product launches into the demand plan.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Integration
- Support partnerships with stakeholders to optimize Monthly business plans (MBP), Integrated Business Planning (IBP), and S&OE processes within the market.
- Manage relationships and facilitate effective communication between Integrated Planning functions and internal business partners.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and accountability in demand planning.
- Actively participate in Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP), Monthly Business Planning (MBP), and Dynamic Forecast (DF) processes to enhance competitive planning solutions.
Planning Team Strategy & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with the Demand Planning Excellence Lead to enhance process efficiency in demand planning.
- Support talent management and succession planning within the demand planning and integrated planning teams.
- Oversee superuser communities to ensure compliance with processes and digital resources.
- Lead a skilled team to improve the quality and efficiency of demand plans, providing training and mentorship.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives by incorporating AI/Machine Learning and predictive analytics.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Integrated Planning Leads, Revenue Managers, and Finance teams to ensure alignment and standardization of demand planning processes.
- Manage relationships with customer Sales Development Leads, Sales Leadership, and One Ops leadership to drive unified planning efforts.
- Facilitate the sharing of demand planning best practices across teams
Role Requirements
- 7 to 10 years of cross-functional supply chain experience with a strong understanding of the end-to-end value chain and leadership in Demand Planning, Supply Chain Management, and Integrated Business Planning.
- Proven ability to manage multiple teams through change management, process improvements, and standardization efforts.
- Proficiency in demand planning tools (e.g., SAP IBP, APO, SAS, OMP. OSPREY), statistical modeling, data management (or other relevant planning technologies common to industry)
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business Economics, or a related field.
- Strong leadership in Demand Planning principles and processes, focusing on traditional and digital forecasting strategies.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to collaborate and influence across departments.
