Financial Planning Content Lead - Bilingual (English/French)

Full-Time Permanent Position

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, Education Development, the Bilingual Financial Planning Content Lead will take a lead role in managing the development and maintenance of technical and professional education content to support the strategic goals of FP Canada™. This role also provides research, analysis, and subject matter expertise to support colleagues and other FP Canada departments.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of financial planning and related content, including navigational and instructional content, assessment items and assignments, supporting materials and education-related communications, and other educational resources to support the FP Canada Institute’s pre-certification technical and professional education programs, continuing education activities and other professional training programs.
  • Develop and edit content in accordance with FP Canada Institute policies and conventions, incorporating feedback provided by contracted staff, senior staff, technical reviewers and content editors to inform content development, changes, and updates.
  • Lead and manage the translation of Institute program and other content into French as required, including identifying, implementing, and overseeing translation technologies and/or contract resources, developing and documenting translation processes and guidelines, reviewing all translated materials for the Institute, and supporting other translation-related projects across the organization.
  • Support content development and maintenance processes by maintaining version control, ensuring data integrity, coordinating the flow of content and information between the development and delivery teams and across departments, and organizing digital assets for streamlined access and updates.
  • Contribute to content development principles, standards, protocols, and templates to ensure that FP Canada content is both consistent and aligned to the needs for which it has been designed.
  • Support volunteers and contractors in the development of content and supporting resources; review and supervise the incorporation of feedback by volunteers and contractors.
  • Take on other responsibilities, as required.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • University degree and minimum of 5 years professional work experience in financial services, ideally including client-facing experience; CFP® certification or QAFP® certification strongly preferred, or professional designation from an allied profession (e.g., CA, CPA, TEP).
  • Demonstrated excellence in overseeing and producing written financial planning content in a variety of mediums and contexts.
  • Fluency in English is required, along with working-level competence in French to support bilingual communication needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on large projects over time.
  • Experience with adult learning practices and principles an asset.
  • Experience in working with volunteers and/or contractors preferred.

Competencies

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent written communication skills in both English and French; experience in content translation and verification.
  • Deep financial planning competence in terms of knowledge and practice.
  • Ability to direct volunteers and contract staff who may contribute to financial planning content development.
  • Ability to manage large-scale, complex, broadly defined projects with little or no precedent.
  • Flexibility to adapt and change direction as new information is presented.
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, both external and internal in a collaborative and supportive manner to most effectively meet project goals.

This is a full-time permanent position working 5 days per week, during core business hours, with some flexibility required. Salary

Salary based on experience ranging from $90,000 - $100,000
