PURPOSE

The Third Cook maintains prep levels in the kitchen, keeps walk-in fridges and common work areas organized and clean, assists preparing and serving staff meals, and cooks on line as required. This position services as an assistant to all culinary team members in the daily execution of their tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 1-2 years previous cooking experience 
  • Understanding of proper preparation techniques and adequate quantities
  • Formal culinary education (Diploma/Certificate) strongly encouraged
  • Must be personable and able to multitask while under extreme pressure and maintain composure
  • Must be creative and passionate about the culinary arts with the ability to learn and adapt new techniques and styles as instructed
  • Must be available for shift work
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Outgoing, friendly and positive
  • Level 1 Food Safe Certification required
  • Level 1 First aid an asset
