MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Completion of academic studies and experience which have resulted in an expertise specifically appropriate to assisting in the instruction of the course(s) assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
- An empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students.
- Effective skills in the English language.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Preference may be given to applicants who are, or will be, a registered student studying in the Department which is posting the employment opportunity at the time that the duties of the position commence
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Applicants will be expected to tutor small groups and individual students as requested: assist and encourage students to use available resources and to develop effective study techniques; attend professional development sessions; assess student's progress; and report to the tutor coordinator. Applicants must indicate relevant experience in their cover letter, include a list of 2 references in their CV, and attach it to their submission. Preference will be given to candidates who plan to attend the tutor training session offered by the Academic Learning Centre in September, or who have the tutor-training course.
- Fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Providing ongoing feedback to students on their learning.
- Adhering to U of M policies and procedures, as well as Extended Education Regulations, including academic integrity.
- Access to a personal computer as well as a camera and headset are requirements for this position.

LSAT TUTOR: Contact Hours: 0 - 5 per week Work Location: online/Fort Garry Campus Delivery Mode: online/Fort Garry campus Responsibilities: ? Applicants will be expected to tutor small groups and individual students as requested: assist and encourage students to use available resources and to develop effective study techniques; attend professional development sessions; assess student's progress; and report to the tutor coordinator.
