Job Title: Retail Sales Associate
Pay: $18.60 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time, 8-weeks
Location: Oakville Goodwill Community Store and Donation Centre

Retail Sales Associate is a customer service and sales role responsible for providing excellent service while ensuring a healthy and safe work environment. As a Sales Associate, you will contribute to Goodwill's mission by supporting the success of the donated goods retail business, helping to create jobs and opportunities within the community, and promoting environmental sustainability through the reuse and recycling of donated goods.

What You Will Do

  • Provide world-class customer service by helping customers, answering questions, and sharing your passion of our mission on the sales floor.
  • Support with cashier responsibilities at the cash register with customer purchases.
  • Help to keep the store look clean, organized, safe and full of fresh store items.
  • Maintain acceptable product standards.
  • Follow Goodwill’s Policies and Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Contribute to teamwork with added activities.
  • Merchandising, learning how to organize and display items on sales floor.
  • Ensure a constant flow of processed goods onto the sales floor. Place merchandise in the correct location according to department, category and sales floor layout

What We Are Looking For

  • Enthusiastic attitude: excited to work with other people and teams.
  • Flexibility: able to work at different times, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Remember, no specific experience needed—we will help coach on these workplace skills:
    • Communication: clear and effective interacting with team members and customers to create a positive workplace.
    • Problem solving: finding solutions to problems, being accurate, and using simple math i.e. counting, adding and subtraction.
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment. Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Between 15-30 years of age at the start of employment.
