JOB OBJECTIVE
The MCI Canada Consulting & Community Solutions team supports Canadian and International Associations with:
- Executive leadership
- Strategic consulting and business planning
- Conferences and events
- Committee support and management
- Community and membership management
- Certification and accreditation management
- Financial management
- Marketing & communications
A key member of MCI Canada’s CCS association management and events team, the Coordinator, Strategic Partnerships is responsible for supporting the development of industry sponsorships, grant applications, affiliate partnerships and sales administration. This includes market research, database development, sales collateral, sales solicitation, tracking, and reporting.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- The coordinator is an adept multi-tasker, who can manage a number of diverse tasks across a variety of associations and projects.
- This role is specifically focused on tasks related to sales and administration of sponsorships, exhibits, and affiliate partnerships:
- Liaising with the Strategic Partnership and Project Managers to determine market potential and fundraising targets
- Conduct market research and develop a targeted database of prospects
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external clients to develop customized sponsor and exhibitor invitations/prospectus and other materials as required
- Actively solicit sponsorships and exhibits
- Actively seek out grant opportunities and affiliate partnerships
- Actively develop new sponsorship opportunities, activations, and bespoke partnerships
- Manage prospective, tentative and confirmed revenue pipelines
- Provide ongoing revenue reports
- Manage the sponsor/exhibitor registration & fulfilment system
- Identify reciprocal advertising opportunities
- Coordinate the implementation of all agreements with the Operations team
- Manage contracts, invoices and payments
- Manage the development of the sponsor / exhibitor post event survey and sponsor / exhibitor final report
- Support the sales team with key sales proposals Maintain up-to-date documentation and user manuals
DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports directly into the Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Director, Consulting & Community Solutions
- Internally collaborates daily with CCS team members
- Internally collaborates as needed with all members of the MCI Canada and MCI Global teams.
- Externally collaborates with clients, industry and affiliate stakeholders
- Maintains professional relationship with suppliers, and temporary staff Provides a high-level of customer service to clients, sponsors, exhibitors, and affiliates
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of two years’ work experience in a sales or fundraising capacity.
- Sponsorship & exhibit sales, association management, event management, hospitality, and/or not-for profit experience is an asset
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Administration, Hospitality, Event Management and/or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. French is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support multiple projects at the same time.
- Knowledge of fundraising, associations and not-for-profit business environment is an asset.
- Able to travel in Canada and, if necessary, internationally. Ability to work effectively both from home and/or an MCI office as required.
SPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong computer skills are a must:
- Highly proficient levels in SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Effective ability to use computer software and technology to organize and present client data and information
- Interest and ability to learn and deploy AI and other new technologies
- Experience working with a range of technology systems specific to:
- Event Management systems
- Sponsorship & Exhibit systems Customer Relationship Management systems
ADDITIONAL SKILLS / LOCAL REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- A highly motived and entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong inter-personal skills including cross cultural understanding
- Empathy to work with diverse customers, staff, managers, and authorities
- Excellent presentation skills
- The position may require occasional travel and work on evenings and weekends. Ability to work extended hours during strategic planning meetings and/or onsite delivery of conferences and events.
