About the role

What to Expect

We're seeking a motivated professional with deep technical knowledge of CNC machining and metal fabrication to join our Manufacturing Team. You'll oversee machining projects for next-generation high-speed automated equipment, managing both internal operations and a network of subcontractors, with a focus on precision metalworking.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the full manufacturing project lifecycle: initiation, scope definition, execution, monitoring, control, and closure

  • Develop and maintain project scopes, task lists, schedules, timelines, budgets, and costs

  • Act as liaison between cross-functional teams, handling communications, stakeholder alignment, and escalations

  • Lead meetings, reviews, and issue resolution to keep manufacturing projects on track

  • Monitor, audit, report, and expedite tasks using ERP systems to manage costs, schedules, and risks

  • Create manufacturing work orders by applying technical knowledge of CNC machining (multi-axis milling, turning, programming), wire EDM, metal fabrication (welding, bending, sheet metal forming), parts finishing, heat treatment, and material selection

  • Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure effective part completion, troubleshooting issues related to tolerances, material compatibility, and fabrication efficiency

  • Handle additional duties as needed to support Tesla’s mission

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Diploma/Certificate in CNC Machining, Metal Fabrication, Precision Machining, Tool and Die Making, Mechatronics or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years in a project management role within industries such as CNC machining, manufacturing production, or related industrial fields

  • Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining, metal fabrication techniques (e.g., MIG/TIG welding, laser cutting, forming), and materials like steel, aluminum, alloys, and plastics

  • Experience in processing Mechanical Bills of Materials and working with engineering drawings to guide suppliers and ensure work order completion

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (e.g., M1 or SAP), AutoCAD and SolidWorks

  • Ability to work independently or in teams, with excellent organization, time management, communication, and presentation skills

  • Willingness to travel locally as needed
