Join our dynamic Digital Health - PRAXIS team and play a pivotal role in transforming how clinical systems drive better patient outcomes across the province! As the Manager, PRAXIS – Specialty Care you’ll lead a talented team of Senior Advisors-Clinical Informatics, Project Mangers, and Project Coordinators dedicated to driving clinical system improvements in Connect Care. Your day-to-day involvement with this diverse team will shape the iterative improvement of Connect Care clinical content, the development of clinical informatics strategies and the delivery of data to support evidence informed decision making both at the bedside and across the health system. In this role, you will manage the Clinical Informatics team supporting Clinical System Improvement (CSI) Teams, Provincial Support Services, and Connect Care enterprise governance committees to identify and capitalize on opportunities for system enhancements that improve the clinical content, workflow and design of Connect Care. You bring a passion for clinical informatics excellence, including full adoption and implementation of the Clinical System Improvement Methodology. You’ll also maintain strong, functional relationships with other Digital Health Areas and across the different provincial health agencies to ensure seamless, integrated improvement work that meets the evolving needs of our healthcare teams. Description:

This role requires expert knowledge of clinical system design principles and processes. Strategic planning and collaboration will be essential as you contribute to the maintenance and refinement of clinical content standards, clinical guidance, and outcome measures. Driving change and continuous improvement will be a central part of your responsibilities. You'll initiate and lead new or modified processes for the PRAXIS – Specialty Care team, ensuring the smooth continuation of Connect Care’s optimization phase is seamless and effective. This will involve setting priorities, guiding your team through changes, and collaborating with other leaders to adapt operational processes to improve clinical content, workflows, and system builds. You'll also be responsible for fostering strong relationships across different teams, ensuring integration of clinical informatics solutions and knowledge transfer. You are an experienced leader with a proven track record of coaching and mentoring diverse teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Your ability to build consensus and navigate complex relationships will be key as you guide your team through the challenges of clinical system improvement cycles. Additionally, you’ll need operational acumen to manage resources, budgets, and timelines effectively, and a strategic mindset to align your team with broader organizational and Digital Health priorities, ensuring everyone works toward a shared vision. You'll maintain a focus on long-term strategic goals, providing input into the program’s planning, and ensuring the necessary resources are in place to support Digital Health and informatics priorities.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in a clinical discipline and a current license. Leadership experience with a proven track record of managing diverse teams. Operational acumen to manage resources, budgets, and timelines effectively. Demonstrates a blend of strong planning and leadership skills, clinical and technical expertise, and a solid understanding of change management best practices to effectively lead the team. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of AHS computer programs/systems such Connect Care, Netcare and Microsoft Office. Experience with governance structures to define objectives and align them with overall goals Demonstrated proficiency in the English language, both written and oral required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience and expertise in facilitating presentations to persuade, influence and convey information or transfer knowledge. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal growth. Experience in initiating and fostering positive relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated understanding of analytical and evaluation techniques for quality improvement and benefits realization. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant health information standards, data interrelationships and dependencies among various health information systems. Experience with large-scale projects and change management methodologies such as AIW and PROSCI, along with a solid understanding of the Alberta health system. Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills. They should possess excellent leadership and staff development skills, with a proven ability to supervise, mentor, and inspire confidence in their team. The role requires someone comfortable with decision-making responsibilities, coaching, and teaching, as well as the ability to resolve conflicts, solve problems, and negotiate effectively. Critical thinking and systematic approaches to improving quality and outcomes are essential, as is the ability to engage others in the process. Strong organizational, communication, and client-focused service delivery skills are key, as is the ability to build effective relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

A master’s degree in clinical informatics or clinical leadership is preferred. CPHIMS-CA designation.
