Salary range: $ 4 4 , 0 00 - $4 9 , 920 + $ 12 000 housing benefit per annum for each person

About The Opportunity Kerith Retreats ministry team plans and coordinates Focus Canada’s Christian retreat ministry . Staff within this team support the delivery of multi-day retreat sessions that focus on the renewal and refreshment of Christian ministry couples or singles .

We are seeking a fun, goal-oriented couple with servant hearts to warmly relate to individuals and guests, a s the Facilities and Hospitality Manager Couple at our retrea t center in Ontario . Th is couple would be coordinating the care and maintenance of the facilities , g rounds keeping , performing administrative duties such as volunteer host management and giving oversight to food services and housekeeping, upkeep of the lodge and suites and lower level of the residence. It is highly desirable that some of this work is accomplished through recruiting, supervising, and encouraging teams of volunteers . The Facilities and Hospitality Manager Couple will reside in the residence on the property, and fair market value for the rent and utilities will be added to their remuneration as a taxable benefit.

Key Responsibilities of Facilities Manager

Do you enjoy working outdoors, managing projects, and leading volunteers—all while contributing to a ministry that supports Christian leaders and couples?

Kerith Waters is looking for a Facilities Manager to maintain and steward our retreat property with excellence. This role is perfect for someone who loves working outdoors, managing projects, and supporting a peaceful, welcoming environment for guests. This role will oversee the care, maintenance, and readiness of our property and buildings.

You’ll Be Responsible For :

  • Oversee ing all the Kerith Waters facilities and property including general repairs, upkeep of buildings and equipment to meet a 5-star standard
  • Assemble and execute a maintenance schedule
  • Confidently & competently attend to building maintenance, safety procedures and grounds keeping ( i.e. lawn care, weed control, snow removal (snow blowing and shovelling is required )
  • Ability to operate small machinery (i.e. ATV, tractor with snow blower attachment, snow machine for trail maintenance, chainsaw)
  • D evelop a sustainable volunteer team for annual /semi -annual workdays for spring /fall cleanup on trails , grounds keeping and spring /fall cleaning (as needed) inside lodge & basement suites
  • Coordinating volunteer teams and casual staff.
  • Managing contractors for specialized repairs.
  • Supporting food services and supply shopping as needed.
  • Fill in as host couple as needed
  • Primary on site contact for vendors, couriers, tradespeople

What You Bring:

  • Experience in building maintenance, groundskeeping, and volunteer coordination.
  • Comfort with tools and machinery (e.g., lawnmowers, chainsaws, ATVs).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • A servant-hearted attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Basic computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office and NetSuite is an asset.
  • Valid First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).

Key Responsibilities of Hospitality Manager

Are you passionate about hospitality, ministry, and creating a welcoming environment for others? Kerith Waters is seeking a Hospitality Manager to lead hospitality operations and ensure a welcoming, well-prepared environment for guests attending retreats and intensives.

This role is ideal for someone who en joy s planning and preparing meals , handling administrative duties , has a servant-hearted approach and capacity for managing volunteers .

You Will Be Responsible For :

  • Planning and preparing meals, including make-ahead dishes, and accommodating dietary needs.
  • Source all food supplies for all events, with assistance from Facilities Manager
  • Maintain up to date inventory for all food and kitchen supplies
  • D evelop and manage a sustainable volunteer host team for Kerith Waters events and facility
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteer hosts for retreats and events
  • Support the other staff , contractors and/or volunteers to ensure that facilities are ready for all retreats , intensiv es and other Focus events
  • Assist with pre-retreat administrative needs for staff / therapist ( i.e. print name tags, prepare booklets for guests )
  • Overse e housekeeping operations and assist with cleaning as needed
  • Submit monthly expense reports
  • Fill in as host couple as needed

What You Bring:

  • Experience in hospitality, food services, and volunteer coordination.
  • Ability to cook for groups (6–20 people), including those with special dietary needs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office and NetSuite is an asset.
  • Valid Food Safe and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
