About the role
As a system conceptor, you will be responsible for identifying and understanding customer needs and the functionalities required for the development of robotic products. You will participate in the identification of product certification requirements to support the demonstration of compliance with applicable standards. You will participate in the definition of system architectures to meet product requirements. You will be responsible for writing system requirements and maintaining traceability from these requirements to customer requirements. You will be actively involved in risk analysis and the definition of risk control measures. You will closely monitor the various software design, development and verification activities to ensure that the delivered product complies with product requirements. You will participate in various project reviews with the customer as required. You will actively participate in the planning and estimation of activities related to the maintenance and software development of robotic products. You will be involved in product introduction and production support.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in product definition in collaboration with customers;
- Manage customer user requirements;
- Contribute actively to project reviews with external customers;
- Participate in system risk analysis;
- Draft risk control documents;
- Participate in the definition of risk mitigation measures;
- Evaluate the technical impact of proposed mitigations;
- Write requirements for robotic systems;
- Participate in the definition and documentation of system architectures;
- Participate in the identification of certification requirements;
- Participate in drafting reports on product compliance with norms and standards;
- Contribute to the drafting of software requirements;
- Maintain traceability of product requirements to system requirements;
- Participate in design reviews of software and hardware components;
- Follow-up with development teams to ensure product meets system requirements;
- Participate in system verification strategy development;
- Contribute to the drafting of system verification procedures;
- Monitor the evolution of the product architecture;
- Provide technical assistance to designers;
- Participate in the definition of product release strategies;
- Actively participate in proposal writing and project estimation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in robotics engineering, biomedical engineering or equivalent with mechatronics concentration;
- Master's degree in robotics;
- 5 years' experience in developing medical robotics systems;
- Experience in developing mechatronic systems;
- Knowledge of ISO 14971, IEC 62304, IEC 60601, IEC 61508 standards;
- Experience as a technical representative for customers;
- Experience with user requirements management;
- Experience in writing system and software requirements;
- Experience in medical robotics product verification;
- Experience with technical tendering and proposal processes;
- Experience with requirements management tools;
- Experience in risk analysis;
- Experience with medical product certification;
- Customer-oriented, professional, motivated and meticulous;
- Results-oriented, proactive, able to prioritize and influence;
- Ability to make quick decisions in situations of risk and uncertainty;
- Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
ASSETS
- Experience in real-time embedded software development;
- Experience with a modeling language (SysML, UML,);
- Experience with Codebeamer requirements management software;
- Experience of development in an Agile environment;
- Experience with project planning and estimating;
