The Role: We’re looking for a Marketing Intern to support the Canadian Category and Brand Management team for four well-known brands: Prestone, Rain X, Solvable, and Adam’s Polishes.
This role is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in brand management and marketing within a fast-moving CPG environment. You’ll work closely with the Category Manager and collaborate with different teams across the business. The work will include a mix of analysis, research, project coordination, and creative tasks, giving you a well-rounded view of how marketing actually operates day to day.
Key Responsibilities
- Business & Market Analysis
- Help analyze category trends, competitor activity, and brand performance.
- Conduct Point of Sale (POS) and retailer-specific analysis to understand what drives results.
- Build simple dashboards and prepare reports for internal meetings.
- Marketing Research
- Support market scans (store visits), customer research, and consumer insight gathering.
- Organize findings and highlight key takeaways to support brand and portfolio decisions.
- Product & Packaging Support
- Assist with packaging and label updates (brief preparation, proofreading, competitive checks).
- Help track packaging changes and maintain product documentation.
- Work with R&D and regulatory teams on product-related questions.
- Innovation & Portfolio Management
- Contribute to innovation projects through research, early-stage idea work, and competitive analysis.
- Support portfolio reviews such as SKU rationalization and assortment mapping.
- Help update and maintain project timelines and roadmaps.
- Marketing Execution & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Sales, Supply Chain, and other teams on retail-related projects.
- Help create marketing materials like sell sheets, retailer presentations, and display concepts.
- Participate in customer-specific initiatives such as promotions or merchandising updates.
- Creative & Digital Support
- Support creative tasks such as social media content ideas, digital asset review, or competitor tracking.
- Coordinate with external agencies when needed.
- Participate in reviewing creative materials and providing feedback.
What You Will Learn
- How brand and product management function in the consumer goods and automotive aftermarket categories.
- How to analyze data and turn findings into clear recommendations.
- The steps involved in developing, packaging, and launching new products in Canada and the U.S.
- How marketing collaborates with sales, R&D, supply chain, and other departments.
- Project management, communication, prioritization, and other practical skills.
Qualifications
Education
Currently enrolled in a program in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical thinking and comfortable working with numbers.
- Clear and professional communication skills (English and French).
- Well organized and attentive to detail.
- Curious, proactive, and willing to learn both creative and analytical aspects of marketing.
- Collaborative mindset and positive attitude.
Technical Skills
- Solid skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop or Canva is a bonus.
- Comfortable learning new digital tools.
Work Environment
Work closely with the Montréal team while collaborating with colleagues across North America.
