What will you do?

  • As the first point of contact, create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting visitors and patrons with a smile, assisting with their needs, and ensuring they have detailed information and direction about the facility, programs, products and services
  • Collect facility admission fees, handle cash and prepare daily deposits in compliance with the City of Edmonton cash handling policies and procedures
  • Assist with customer inquiries and complaints received in person with professionalism and empathy
  • Support with first aid, CPR and emergency evacuation as needed
  • Assist with the accessibility scooter rentals and the lost and found program
  • Support the Retail Manager with sales and merchandising efforts within the Park’s gift shops
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or higher or equivalent
  • Some experience providing customer service, including cash handling and using computer software programs (point of sale, registration software and other facility related computerized equipment)

Assets:

  • Ability to communicate in a second language
  • Experience working in a museum, cultural centre or historic site

Skills required for success:

  • Highly developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions and information
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public, facility staff, volunteers and other visitors to the facility
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills, including the ability to respond to emergent situations
  • High level of proficiency using Google Applications and Microsoft Office

Conditions of Employment:

  • Valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR Certificates are required prior to employment
  • Hire is dependent on Criminal Record Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
  • Applicants may be tested

Work Environment:

  • The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance

Successful candidates may be eligible for recall in the 2027 season Up to 3 temporary part-time positions for up to 10 months Hours of Work: Up to 39 hours per week. Successful candidates must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required.

Salary: $23.183 - $28.647 (Hourly)
