Job Description
As part of the Vacutrux Team this individual will:
- Properly prepare surfaces before painting; prep, sand, clean and mask large steel vessel tanks, trailers, truck frames, parts and fabrications as part of our finishing team
- Prepare for final coatings on tank systems
- Prepare vehicles and components for painting by cleaning, sanding and masking surfaces
- Application of primers, sealers, basecoats, colour coats and clear coats
- Help with the process for mixing paints and ensure proper consistency and colour
- Operate forklift and other material handling equipment
- Maintain neat storage of materials including paints, thinners and other supplies
- Practice safe handling procedures of hazardous supplies
- Set up, operate and maintain grit-blasting machine
- Other duties as required
Skills the ideal candidate has include:
- Knowledge of maintenance and repair of painting equipment
- Minimum 3-years’ experience working as an industrial prepper or painter
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in automotive painting
