Service Now Mapping Specialist (34736)
About the role
- 5+ years hands-on experience working with the ServiceNow platform, including configuration and technical implementation within enterprise environments
- 3+ years of ServiceNow ITOM experience, specifically focused on Service Mapping and Discovery
- Proven experience designing, building, and validating Application Service Maps in complex enterprise environments
- Strong understanding and practical use of Common Service Data Model (CSDM 4.0 / 5.0) including Application Services and Business Application relationships
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Service Mapping patterns using Pattern Designer
- Experience working with ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE) to maintain accurate configuration data
- Ability to troubleshoot service mapping failures related to credentials, network connectivity, firewall constraints, discovery patterns, and CMDB data quality issues
- Working knowledge of infrastructure discovery protocols and networking fundamentals (WMI, SSH, SNMP, TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers such as F5)
- Experience collaborating with application, infrastructure, and network teams to validate dependencies and map end-to-end application services
- Experience working in large enterprise or government environments with legacy systems and partially documented applications
