Description

The Competency SME leads the creation, development, refinement, and evaluation of one or more small or emerging technical competencies. Maintains subject matter expertise and leverages industry leadership to continuously improve and innovate toward increasing market demand and practice effectiveness. Oversees internal projects and priorities to advance competency and innovate offerings. Prepares SOWs to ensure alignment with GTM and capability. Manages the team.

Making an Impact

  • Design architecture, standards, processes and methods which drive innovation, value and quality through assigned competencies within a practice.
  • Ensure alignment and integration across practice portfolio and throughout full project life cycle.
  • Oversee execution of assigned competencies and apply consistent methodology and common cadence to be easily replicated and modified across diverse client portfolio.

Sharing Expertise

  • Conduct ongoing industry analysis and maintain subject matter expertise with a focus on competency innovation and evolution.
  • Create and contribute to thought leadership (white papers, panels, conferences) to build our brand and increase share of voice.

Gaining Exposure

  • Consult with internal and client stakeholders on major multi-practice solution design and implementation.
  • Contribute deep technical expertise throughout sales process to build confidence and credibility in ability to execute.
  • Contribute to client satisfaction, control technical risk and provide technical consultancy and guidance throughout project life cycle.

People Leadership

  • Up to one Competency SME per Competency.
  • May have Solution Architect(s) and billable staff reporting to them

Your Typical Day

  • Consult with practice lead & field sales team and provide support for pre-sales activities
  • Contribute to client projects and ensure client deliverables are met with high technical quality

Qualifications

Required

  • Domain Experience: 5+ years execution and oversight of complex technical practice disciplines
  • Management: 3+ years of successful, progressively responsible project, program and engagement management
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Thought Leadership: Demonstrate external thought leadership through publication of white papers, speaking engagements, etc.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a global and / or matrixed organization
