The Sustainability Co-op Student will work with the Sustainability & Indigenous Relations Team to support our greenhouse gas (GHG) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate sustainability, working directly on the development of our 2025 ESG report and supporting data management and analysis. The Sustainability Co-op Student will work across all areas of the business in this collaborative, cross-functional role where they will contribute to advancing ENMAX’s sustainability initiatives.
Major Responsibilities
- Research and update emissions factors for Scope 1 and 2 GHG calculations.
- Support Scope 3 GHG emissions quantification.
- Collaborate with groups across the company to collect, validate, and compile ESG-related data.
- Support data collection for the audit of ESG metrics.
- Track ESG metrics against Sustainability frameworks such as SASB, GRI and CSSB.
- Review ESG data best practices through peer benchmarking.
Education Required
- Working towards a Degree or Diploma in Sustainability, Data Science, Environment, Engineering, Business or other relevant discipline.
- Must be enrolled in a formal co-operative education program managed by the post-secondary institution.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong research and analysis skills
- Effective written communication and presentation skills
- Mature relationship building and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions quantification
- Data analytics experience is an asset

Salary: Co-Op CM, Communications (CUPE 2025 rates)
$24.82 - $26.03 - $28.59 - $30.58
Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB) . You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
