Western Integrated Electrical builds, installs, maintains, and commissions electrical systems throughout locations across the lower mainland. We complete a variety of electrical installations which can be located at YVR, hospitals, industrial facilities, commercial buildings and in many local municipal facilities. We partner with our clients across the lower mainland to solve their most pressing challenges including design build projects and custom solutions. Distribution and lighting upgrades. Conveyor and machine installations.
Summary:
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for carrying out a wide range of industrial installations including food processing, automation, and manufacturing. This position requires robust technical expertise, proven leadership capabilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong focus on safe, efficient work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installations:
-
- Accurately and efficiently install or modify a variety of systems, including power distribution, control systems, motors, VFD’s, conveyors, and industrial equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical panels, motors, drives, controls, and other electrical components.
- Perform installation, modification, and repair of electrical wiring, conduit, and other electrical components.
- Teamwork:

- Provide high-quality guidance to apprentices and co-workers.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates, explaining technical issues and providing clear and concise solutions as required.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, teammates, and subcontractors.
- Safety & Compliance:
-
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including BC Safety Authority regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and address any safety hazards promptly.
- Report all accidents and incidents, participate in investigations as required.
- Documentation & Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of all work performed including time tracking, material orders.

Assist supervisor in creating marked-up drawings during and post-installation.

Qualifications:
-
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical/Trade School Diploma in Electrical Technology preferred.

Experience: Minimum 7+ years of experience in electrical service and maintenance.

Licenses/Certifications:
-
- Journeyman Electrician License (British Columbia) required.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code; FSR-A or B is an asset
- BC Safety Authority certifications (e.g., Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection).
- Occupational First Aid/CPR certification.

Skills:

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of PLC systems, VFDs, and other industrial control systems (preferred).
- Strong work ethic and a self-motivated approach to work.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50lbs.

Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and noise.
