Patient Relations Consultant
About the role
Reporting to the Corporate Manager for Patient & Resident Experience, you will act as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and staff, facilitating communication and resolution of concerns in accordance with provincial regulations and organizational policies. This role also involves identifying trends, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and providing education to build capacity for concern resolution management across Covenant Health. Required Qualifications:
University degree in a health or clinical discipline (e.g. Nursing, Social Work) required. Active license and registration with the appropriate provincial licensing body.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years in an acute care environment working with patients or residents, physicians, and staff. Comprehensive clinical knowledge and understanding of healthcare legislation (HIA, ATIA, POPA, PPIC, Mental Health Act). Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and facilitation skills. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage sensitive, high-pressure situations with discretion and diplomacy. Strong computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in concern management within a complex healthcare setting. Experience in quality improvement and risk management. Formal disclosure training.
