Job Description
This role is based in our Toronto office.
Are you ready to take your creative leadership to the next level? Do you thrive on mentoring talent, crafting exceptional designs, and solving creative challenges? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer to lead and elevate the creative vision behind some of the most exciting live events in North America. In this role, you’ll oversee a talented team of designers and create work that fans will see, share, and remember across iconic brands like FAN EXPO, VidCon, Interior Design Show, Artist Project, One Of A Kind Spring & Christmas Shows, and Art Toronto.
As the Senior Graphic Designer, you’ll be a mentor, a visionary, and a hands-on creative leader. You’ll guide our team of five designers—three full-time graphic designers, one freelancer who works with us full-time, and the new hire in this role. You’ll also collaborate closely with our Project Manager to oversee project workflows, manage deadlines, and provide support to the design team. This role will report directly to the Associate Director, Creative and Brand, while working closely with our Creative Directors and VP of Marketing to ensure all graphic projects meet brand standards and align with our creative vision.
We’re looking for someone who not only understands pop culture but also has experience in the Design and/or Art industries. Ideally, you’ll bring people management experience, a passion for mentoring, and a knack for contributing fresh, innovative ideas to elevate our branding and marketing campaigns year over year.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and Mentor: Guide and support a team of five designers, including three full-time designers, one full-time freelancer, and one new hire. Provide constructive feedback, creative direction, and professional development opportunities to help the team thrive.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Project Manager to oversee project workflows, manage deadlines, and ensure the team is supported. Act as a key liaison between the design team, Creative Directors, VP of Marketing, and Associate Director, Creative and Brand to communicate direction and ensure alignment with brand standards.
- Drive Creative Excellence: Conceptualize and execute innovative campaign ideas from concept to delivery, ensuring they meet and exceed creative brief requirements.
- Streamline Processes: Spearhead process improvements to enhance project efficiency and team collaboration.
- Manage Projects: Oversee the end-to-end creative development of new projects, managing timelines and team workloads to meet strict deadlines.
- Ensure Quality: Provide quality assurance for all creative deliverables across print and digital platforms.
- Oversee Print Production: Manage print production and file preparation for CMYK output, including vendor management as needed.
- Create Motion Graphics: Design motion graphics for digital initiatives, including video content, using advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills.
- Contribute to Branding: Bring fresh design ideas to the table to elevate our branding and marketing campaigns year over year.
- Stay Ahead of Trends: Research and implement current design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to push creative boundaries and set new visual standards.
- Support Daily Projects: Assist with day-to-day creative projects as required.

- Print Production Knowledge: Strong understanding of file preparation for CMYK output and print production processes.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex concepts into compelling marketing assets.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for detail to ensure the highest quality in all deliverables.
- Collaboration and Communication: Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and customer support skills to work effectively with stakeholders and team members.
- Organizational Skills: Strong planning, multi-tasking, and time management abilities to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
