About This Opportunity Location: Souris Feed Mill
Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Salary: Starting wage from $19.00 per hour.
Schedule: Rotating shifts that include weekends, and holidays.
Are you looking for a hands-on role where you can be part of a team that keeps things moving? As a Production Operator at Canada Packers , you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality animal feed in a safe, efficient, and team-driven environment.
This position is part of a collaborative team that includes maintenance technicians and truck drivers, all working together to meet daily production goals. If you enjoy working with machines, solving problems, and being part of a fast-paced operation, this could be the opportunity for you.
Responsibilities As a Production Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating equipment and supporting daily feed production. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with machines, equipment & computer systems to produce animal feed
- Completing required paperwork for assigned tasks
- Following manufacturing practices & safety policies
- Following housekeeping standards
- Operation of plant equipment to achieve daily production targets
- Performing troubleshooting and minor repairs on machines
- Communicating any changes in product flow, equipment malfunctions, shortages or deviations from specifications to Team Lead or Maintenance
- Collecting raw material and final product samples and performing tests to ensure raw material and final product meet specifications
- Measuring & weighing of ingredients
- Following quality standards and ensuring proper documentation for feed safety
Skills & Experience Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application. Proof of eligibility may be requested during the recruitment process.
- Willingness and ability to learn new processes and equipment
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Experience in a production or manufacturing environment is an asset
