The Department of Families is seeking to fill one full-time regular Program Manager position in our Steinbach office.
Duties:
Reporting to the CFS Service Director, the Program Manager has responsibility for overseeing the delivery of day-to-day services associated with the agency’s various Child Protection and Support Services programs, including Intake Services, After Hours Services, Voluntary Family Services, Child Protection Services, and Services to Children in Care.
Expected activities include providing leadership, clinical and program knowledge, support and supervision to CFS frontline staff in the above program areas, as well as performing various budgetary and human resource management functions. The Program Manager participates in program development and evaluation, operational planning, identifying gaps in service, and crisis resolution.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Post-secondary degree in Social Sciences (BSW Preferred). Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Leadership experience in a social service delivery environment which includes managing administration of programs, managing service delivery to clients, and planning and evaluation of services delivered to clients.
- Significant Child & Family Services case management experience.
- Experience interpreting, evaluating, and implementing policies, processes, and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop, foster and maintain respectful relationships with diverse external and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to synthesize information, make recommendations and decisions.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a clear, concise, and organized manner for a variety of audiences.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a clear, concise, and organized manner for a variety of audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize and meet competing deadlines.
- Experience in Human Resource Management and the ability to supervise a service delivery team. Supervision may include attendance and performance management, orientating, training, coaching, and developing staff.
- Strong political acumen with the ability to manage confidential and politically sensitive material and situations in an appropriate manner.

Must be available to work evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and the after hours rotation when required

Must have and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5F Driver's Licence and have access to a vehicle with the ability to travel on government business within the Province of Manitoba. This may include occasional overnight or several days travel away from your primary office location
