YOUR MISSION

We're looking for On-Call Sound Technician to join our Montreal Technical Studios team. If you're ready to get involved in exciting projects with a global scope, you've come to the right place.

As an On-Call employee, you'll work exclusively at Cirque du Soleil headquarters in Montreal and you'll enjoy flexibility: no fixed schedules or binding obligations. Responsibilities

The On-Call Sound Technician under the direction of the Head of Lighting / Sound / Video / FX, is responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

Collaborate with the studios technical team to set up, install, and operate sound equipment for rehearsals, performances, and special events. Operate sound consoles and software to mix and control audio elements, ensuring high-quality sound reinforcement according to artistic and technical requirements. Conduct routine maintenance checks on sound equipment, including microphones, amplifiers, speakers, and playback devices, to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Troubleshoot technical issues and malfunctions promptly, implementing solutions to minimize disruptions during live shows. Provide support and assistanceduring load-ins, load-outs, and technical rehearsals, collaborating effectively with other technical crew members. Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Adhere to Cirque du Soleil's safety policies, procedures, and industry regulations related to audio systems, rigging, and working at heights. Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to the appropriate personnel and follow established protocols for incident management.

YOUR UNIQUE EXPERTISE

Degree or diploma in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or a related field. Minimum of two years of experience as a Sound Technician in live entertainment, theater, or events industry. Proficiency in operating sound consoles (e.g., Yamaha TF and CL series) and familiarity with audio software (e.g., Pro Tools, QLab). Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues under pressure. Knowledge of sound principles, including microphone placement, signal flow, equalization, and mixing techniques. Understanding of basic principles of acoustics, audio signal processing, and digital audio networking. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Willingness to work flexible hours; Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken;
