Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to the design, development and implementation of custom / integration solutions by the development teams leveraging a “shift-left” approach to development
  • Architecture & Design: Oversee, lead and actively engage in the architecture and design of highly-available resilient application solutions deployed in private or public clouds covering UI, backend, APIs, integrations, and data modeling
  • PMO Project Delivery: Partner with the PMO in the delivery of approved Corporate Objectives driven approved business application projects resulting in state-of-the-art quality applications, on time, on budget
  • Application Integration: Lead and provide direction on integration strategies (API, Data Streams, etc) across the diverse portfolio of application (SaaS, Custom, Onpremise), cyber security & technology platforms within Teknion, its business partners and 3rd parties
  • Application Development & Improvement: Understand as-is & to-be application solution states, identify improvements leveraging new and existing Technologies, Architectures & Designs. Converting business requirements into system qualities and repeatable design strategies
  • Setting Technical Standards: Establishing and maintaining technical standards (policies & procedures) for product development and operations
  • Security and Compliance: Assessing security risks, implementing appropriate measures, and ensuring compliance with cyber security, data storage and change control methods in accordance with new & existing change management and governance policies & procedures
  • Advising on IT Developments: Providing advice on future IT developments and strategic planning
  • Management: Manage a development team. Guide, mentor and provide business & technical direction to the developers involved in the delivery of application solutions

  • Excel in facilitating and influencing across teams, departments, and divisions.

  • Communicate effectively and build relationships to interact, inform, influence, and engage with key stakeholders at all levels within the company.
  • Maintain an intellectual curiosity and a drive to acquire and enhance business, technology, and architecture skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering / Systems Architecture or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture or Technology Solution design in mid to large sized organizations
  • Experience creating solutions architectures for private clouds and public clouds (AWS, Microsoft Azure)
  • Experienced in high availability distributed systems, API strategies, micro services, data modeling, messaging (activeMQ)
  • Extensive knowledge of databases, data querying, and data security, including data masking
  • Extensive knowledge of application servers, web application firewalls
