Vaderstad is seeking an experienced Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure Architect with strong development skills to lead our cloud adoption initiatives and support our growing software development teams. This role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing Azure cloud environments while ensuring seamless integration with our ERP systems and manufacturing operations.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- 7-10 years of total IT infrastructure and development experience
- 5+ years of specific Azure cloud architecture experience
- Experience working in global, distributed team environments
Core Competencies
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architecture
- Proven experience implementing Azure Cloud Adoption Framework in enterprise environments
- Strong development background with experience in C#/.NET, Python, PowerShell, TypeScript
- Extensive knowledge of Azure services including:
- Compute: Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure Functions, AKS
- Storage: Blob Storage, Azure Files, managed disks
- Networking: VNets, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, Traffic Manager
- Databases: Azure SQL Database, Mongo DB, managed instances
- Integration: Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Hubs, API Management
- ERP & Integration Experience
- 3+ years of experience integrating cloud solutions with ERP systems
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs, SOAP web services, and enterprise integration patterns
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry processes and data flows
- Experience with data migration and synchronization strategies
- Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent
- Experience with agriculture or manufacturing industry systems and processes
- Knowledge of IoT solutions and Azure IoT services for equipment monitoring
- Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools (Power BI, Azure Synapse, Fabric)
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architecture
- Working knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management framework
Accountabilities
- Cloud Architecture & Strategy
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure cloud solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Lead cloud adoption initiatives following Microsoft Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) methodologies.
- Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, best practices, and governance frameworks
- Create and maintain architectural documentation, including solution designs, network diagrams, and deployment guides
- Infrastructure Design & Implementation
- Design and deploy Azure infrastructure components including VNets, subnets, NSGs, load balancers, and hybrid connectivity solutions
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Bicep.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipeline implementation
- Configure and manage Azure services including App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, and container solutions
- Working knowledge and experience of monitoring and logging solutions in Azure
- Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
- Developer Enablement & DevOps
- Understand Azure DevOps pipelines, CI/CD processes, and automated deployment strategies
- Configure development, staging, and production environments with proper isolation and security controls
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
- Support development teams with Azure PaaS services and cloud-native development patterns
- ERP Integration & Enterprise Systems
- Design and implement Azure integration solutions with existing ERP systems (IFS, ABAS ERP, Infor Fourthshift and Workday HCM)
- Develop and maintain API management strategies using Azure API Management
- Configure hybrid cloud connectivity solutions including Azure Arc, ExpressRoute, and VPN gateways
- Ensure seamless data flow between cloud applications and on-premises manufacturing systems
- Security & Compliance
- Implement Azure security best practices including Azure Entra ID, Key Vault, and Azure Security Center
- Design and maintain network security architecture with proper segmentation and access controls
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing
- Conduct security assessments and implement remediation strategies
Work Conditions
- Primarily a typical office working environment
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Work is performed in a combination of environments which require the usage of Personal Protective Equipment
- This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes and oils
- Job anxiety, tension and mental stress can occur from time to time in meeting deadlines, confrontation, interruptions, long meetings and responding to general duties
- Overtime as required
