Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Temporary Junior High Teacher (0.5 FTE) to teach Math 6, Science 7, and Health 8 at Namao School. This position runs from January 5, 2026, to June 30, 2026.
Located just minutes north of Edmonton, Namao School serves approximately 400 students from Kindergarten to Grade 9. With strong academics, diverse programming, and a supportive community, Namao is a welcoming school where students and staff thrive.
What You'll Be Doing
- Teach Junior High grades Math, Science, and Health
- Plan and deliver clear, structured, and engaging lessons that build foundational knowledge and essential competencies
- Support diverse learners with differentiated instruction and assessment practices
- Build strong classroom relationships that support students' academic, social, and emotional development
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance programming and share best practices
- Contribute to the broader school community through involvement in initiatives and activities
What You Bring
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Experience teaching Junior High students, particularly in Math and Science
- Experience delivering engaging STEAM programming
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Collaborative approach with excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
