Provide administrative support to the program heads and faculty in the Bachelor of Applied Management Program and other business programs as needed.

Responsible for a diverse range of job functions related to the delivery of the programs and courses on and off-campus.
-
Maintain and ensure an efficient and effective level of support services essential to the delivery of these programs and courses on and off-campus. The Business programs and courses offered through the School of Business and the School of Continuing Education are accessed by students provincially, nationally, and internationally (this includes collaborating with enrollment services, facilities, student services, and various external stakeholders).
-
Provide information and support to diverse internal and external clients interested in Sask Polytech programs/ courses. The office assistant is expected to develop general and specialized knowledge in the programs and courses and apply that knowledge independently.

Assist with preparing and delivering manuals, course packs, examinations, and other materials as needed for students enrolled in these programs.
-
Accurately type, photocopy, and distribute documents that may include timetables, correspondence, proposals, information packages, etc.
-
Track and record student information, including grades, attendance, academic misconduct, and any other information as required.
-
Maintain a comprehensive filing system (both electronic and manual).
-
Order resources and supplies.
-
Schedule appointments, arrange meetings, draft agendas, accurately record, transcribe, and distribute minutes.
-
Assist with the scheduling of classes and relief instructors. When required, provide relief for proctoring.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

Grade 12 plus a recognized office administration or business certificate or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Minimum one year recent and relevant experience performing administrative and clerical work.

Training and/or experience at the intermediate level in the use of common software packages, i.e. MS Office Suite.

Knowledge of common office procedures
-
Effective interpersonal skills.
-
Effective organizational skills.
-
Effective proofreading skills.
-
Ability to work independently under generalized supervision.
-
Demonstrates valuing diversity.
