This position is required to work in person at 3330 Harvester Road, Burlington. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Inventory Coordinator, this position is responsible for customer service functions of the stock room, picking & staging orders and posting transactions in a computerized inventory management system.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the following:
- Supporting operation of the stockroom regarding the disbursement of supplies.
- Assisting in the maintenance of computerized inventories by accurately posting all issues in the inventory management system in a timely manner and through the safe physical keeping of the materials.
- Stocking and organizing shelves after material has been received into a computerized inventory management system.
- Assisting the Coordinator with the administration of union clothing orders.
- Administering collection of fees and sign retrievals resulting from sign by-law infractions.
- Carrying out retail sales of manufactured traffic signs.
- Administering loans of various equipment to internal customers.
- Processing courier shipments for internal customers.
- May perform select duties of the Inventory Coordinator during peak periods, vacations and absences.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent experience with post-secondary education in inventory management or supply chain management preferred. 3 years warehouse, retail and/or customer service experience with computer-oriented purchasing/inventory systems is required. Forklift license is considered an asset. Previous inventory experience in a municipal environment is considered an asset. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential. Applicants must be able to meet the challenges of a physically demanding job and possess or be able to obtain certification to operate a tow motor. This position works 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
